By Comrade Lukman Danfulani.

The Honourable Member representing the good and workaholic people of Okene 1 State constituency in Kogi state House of Assembly Lokoja, distinguished Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed rolled out his scorecard in a chat with his constituents narrating his stewardship since assumption of office as the mouthpiece of the Okene 1 people.

Hon. Lawi financed the fencing the 24000sq meters of the Ebiraland central Eid praying ground located in his constituency putting a permanent stoppage to encroachment and as well making it a secured and conducive environment during the observance of Eid prayers by the Muslim faithfuls and Anebiras at large.
His love for education propelled him to distribute 5000 school bags, 10,000 exercise books and other writing materials to pupils of public primary schools in the seven wards of his constituency.
He sponsored primary school pupils in his constituency for National Academic Competition which saw the pupils emerging with overall best results which secured them admissions on scholarship basis to Nigerian Turkish
international schools.
He offered scholarships to constituents in various tertiary
institutions in the country and is partnering with the state government to ensure assistance is given to students seeking to study abroad.
Also, in the education sector, Hon. Lawi has influenced the
renovations of primary schools in his constituency by SUBEB. In his determined effort to bring the scarcity of water faced by his constituents to the nearest minimum, millions of naira was spent rehabilitating non-functional central boreholes in each of the wards of his constituency.
As the Chairman, House committee on Water Resources, he is also leaving no stone unturned to ensure the State Government provide portable water for all across the state.
He has touched the agricultural sector as well. He sensitized farmers about the agricultural loans from the Bank of Agriculture and exerted his influence to ensure his constituents benefit in large numbers when the time for giving out the loan comes.
He purchased fertilizers and shared same among active farmers in his constituency. Most importantly, he visits them at the farm centers for interactions and providing solutions to problems raised by them like boundary demarcation issues.
Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed has milk of kindness flowing in him. Aside offsetting medical bills on surgeries, purchase of drugs for hospitalized less privileged ones in his constituency, he has also moved relevant motions calling on the attention of the state government to critical health issues.
The son of the late political icon, Senator AT Ahmed, has been of tremendous influence in securing jobs for unemployed youths in his constituency. He is well known for sharing of foodstuffs during fasting and festivities.
The primary assignment of a legislator is adequate representation by moving of motions with direct impact on the masses and sponsoring of people-oriented bills. Hon Lawi has several motions to his credit. Some of which are:

– Motion calling on the state government to reconstruct Etahi collapsed bridge. – Motion calling on the state government to put a halt to the extortion by lecturers of Kogi State higher institutions.

– Motion appealing to the state government to grant scholarship to Kogi medical students in various higher institutions both in and outside the country.
– Motion of appeal to the state government to foot the medical bill of one of his constituent.
Lastly, as this political juggernaut calls for peace and unity amongst his constituents and Kogites at large, he particularly urge Muslims to take advantage of this holy month of Ramadan for strengthening their relationship with almighty Allah. He also called for patience and support of Kogites for the actualization of the New Direction policy and agenda under the watch of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, a man he is confident will make Kogi state proud.
